Concentric Power is a next generation provider of intelligent microgrids that use modular cogeneration systems, renewable energy and energy storage systems.  Our systems require commissioning, preventative and as-needed maintenance, operational testing, and repair work. As a field engineer, among other things, you are responsible for getting the system up and running, ensuring its continual operation, and working with other team members and the customer to improve the system.

Job Description:

  • Oversee systems at multiple sites
  • Oversee field technicians and provide clear instructions
  • Be responsible for the commissioning of the cogeneration system
  • Coordinate with project and construction managers
  • Be the lead technical and maintenance person on-site
  • Develop strong working relationships with client’s onsite personnel
  • Implement system modifications
  • Be responsible for continuous operation of the system
  • Be responsible for replacing piping, sensors, and high-pressure pumps
  • Interact with product engineering team to help improve products
  • Communicate field improvements to product design team for integration into future products
  • May require hands-on involvement
  • Understand technical and design requirements for parts and suggest alternatives when appropriate
  • Order and stock parts
  • Work with outside vendors to understand products and find creative solutions
  • Schedule outside vendors
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system
  • Oversee system repairs using innovative solutions and create potential design improvements
  • Be available at off hours

Requirements:

Must have experience reading and/or producing the following:

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Architectural drawings
  • Site layouts

Desired Experience:

  • Power generation
  • Mechanical equipment
  • Process plants
  • Refrigeration systems
  • High pressure pumps
  • Heat exchanges
  • Ammonia

Education:

  • 5+ years relevant experience with 4-year engineering degree

Job Description:

  • Monitor natural gas engines, refrigeration systems, and other components
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer’s specifications, including, change oil, sample fluid, conduct inspections
  • Troubleshoot system
  • Suggest ways to repair system problems
  • Track parameters
  • Work independently without supervision
  • Use EMCP/HMI
  • Safe handling of ammonia and equipment
  • Be willing to take training courses

Requirements:

Must have experience reading and/or producing the following:

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Architectural drawings
  • Site layouts

Desired Experience:

  • Be able to work overtime
  • Be available to be on-call
  • California Drivers License
  • Caterpillar certification a plus

Education:

  • 5+ years as engine mechanic/technician
  • 2+ years with power generation equipment
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel, email, etc.
