As Concentric Power expands it client base and significant project engagement, the company seeks to strengthen the breadth and sophistication of the finance function. A new role has been defined to attract an experienced Controller to oversee the scalability and compliance of all accounting and reporting processes.  Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be part of the senior management team and lead budgeting and planning for new and existing installations of large-scale customer projects. It is foreseen that the Controller will hire and manage a number of project accountants to monitor performance against budget.  The position will be located at the Salinas CA headquarters, and will coordinate activities with the Chief Administrative Officer in the Campbell, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure proper quality control for financial reporting and disclosure
  • Recruit and manage a small team to keep pace with anticipated growth in customers and revenues
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
  • On at least a monthly basis, provide a 90 day cash forecast
  • Develop a timely monthly accrual-based financial statement package and report on variances, communicating results and analytical review to Management
  • On at least a monthly basis, prepare and report on project level financial performance including WIP adjusted profitability performance to date and projected project profitability at completion
  • Work directly with Project Managers to obtain Estimated Costs to Complete for each project on at least a monthly basis
  • Complete overhead cost allocation analysis to ensure that projects are charged the proper technology licensing fees and overhead allocation adjustments
  • Work with operations team to implement and maintain a time tracking system for all personnel but focused on accuracy of time allocation to product development and project costs
  • Analyze all financial expenditures and make value and cost based business and financial recommendations to Management
  • Oversee fixed assets acquisitions, disposals and assets tracking
  • Manage financial interactions with customers
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with relevant tax and accounting regulations
  • Act as the primary interface with external auditors
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and management responsibility
  • An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; advanced degree highly desirable
  • CPA and strong accounting background required
  • Must have experience with capital equipment and project based accounting
  • Familiarity with financial software packages
  • Advanced level proficiency in utilization of excel
  • Proficient in building and maintaining financial budgets and forecasts
  • Experience in a growth environment is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to scale an organization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building a team
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for a collaborative, team-oriented work environment

We are looking for an electrical engineer who will help us advance our microgrid electrical products, systems, and applications.

On a daily basis, you’ll carry out various engineering tasks, such as performing calculations to ensure our systems meet national safety standards and collaborating with technicians to develop grid interface and system networking solutions. Create and maintain 2D Single line, Three line drawings. You’ll also bring a solid history of the electrical industry and knowledge of leading electrical vendors and systems. You’ll design and provide take offs for estimating project costs for the electrical components of our microgrid systems.

Electrical Engineer Job Duties Include:

  • Designing and improving electrical products and systems
  • Establishing manufacturing processes
  • Evaluating systems’ safety, reliability and performance

Responsibilities:

  • Design, control and implement electrical systems for microgrids
  • Develop Single Lines, Three lines and various other 2D CAD packages
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
  • Summarize data and report on test results
  • Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets
  • Monitor maintenance and inspection plans
  • Define customer needs and requirements
  • Provide technical direction for sub-contractors

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years creating drawing/documents with 2D AutoCAD
  • Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
  • Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes and suppliers
  • Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
  • Experience with medium and high voltage application
  • S. Electrical Engineering; MSc is a plus

Designed Multipliers:

  • 5+ years of experience in Power Generation PV, Wind, Natural Gas
  • Switchgear design experience
  • Substations design experience
  • Controls experience, SCADA, Modbus, TCP/IP, HMI, NOC, etc.
  • Interconnection experience
  • Coding/Language software: Python, Matlab, C++, JAVA, etc.
